"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation."

I am Mrs. Autumn Blevins. I was originally born and raised in Shady Spring, West Virginia. I have wonderful parents who focused on raising my brother, sister, and I on courage, compassion, and competitiveness.
Throughout my entire life I have been a competitor in school, sports, and recreation. I was a three-sport athlete participating and obtaining All-State achievements in volleyball, basketball, and softball. I have been a part of four state high school championships: two in volleyball and two in softball. I have been a school yearbook editor, newspaper editor, class president, and have held a job since I was in eighth grade first working as a lift ticket distributor at Winterplace Ski Resort. Before teaching Social Studies at Blaine, my other job titles included: waitress, babysitter, softball clinic organizer, fourth grade teacher, coach, and pitching instructor.
I attended Marshall University in 2005 majoring in Broadcast Journalism as well as playing softball for the Thundering Herd. I changed my major to Secondary Education & Social Studies as I had a passion for teaching others and love history.
Once I graduated in 2010, I took the opportunity to play softball for USAAI in Sydney, Australia. In 2011, I trained for and completed the ING New York City Marathon, which was by far my greatest athletic achievement.
Being a part of the Marshall University Softball program led me to meeting my husband, Steven, who was a baseball pitcher for the Herd. We have been married since September 14, 2013 and are expecting our first little addition September 1, 2014.
